About me
Credit: Gianluca Cecere
A few years ago, I saw a photo of a young boy in Pakistan reading a comic book that I wrote about the science and history behind polio vaccines. More than 200,000 copies were reprinted in several languages (including Urdu, Pakistan’s national language) and Rotary International distributed copies to members of the U.S. Congress as part of their advocacy work.
I've interviewed several Nobel laureates and a U.S. president, profiled a space archaeologist doing research in Egypt, and helped conceive, edit, and write a magazine feature package on climate change that galvanized Rotary, an international humanitarian organization, to adopt the environment as a philanthropic cause.
I’ve been an award-winning writer and editor for nearly two decades, with experience translating strategic goals into compelling content. I have a background in biology and have spent much of my career writing about public health and global development.
I hold a bachelor’s in zoology and biological aspect of conservation and a master’s in journalism, and I am a member of the National Association of Science Writers.
